Summer Doctoral Institute Faculty Mentors
One of the pillars of the Summer Doctoral Institute (SDI) program at GW-CIBER is the possibility for non-GW doctoral students to work with research-active faculty members from various GW departments. Faculty mentors are expected to be present in D.C. for most of the two summer months, and be available for face-to-face meetings with their students. This presents an excellent opportunity for close guidance and quick and constructive feedback, as well as for establishing a lasting academic relationship.
Past SDI participants have had the opportunity to work with professors from the GW School of Business, the Elliott School of International Affairs, and the Departments of Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Geography, Sociology and Anthropology. All full-time GW faculty members are eligible to participate in the SDI program. You can view a complete list of all GW school and college websites here.
Past SDI Mentors
Please see below a list of GW faculty members who have served as mentors in the past three SDI cycles. As these professors are already familiar with the SDI, feel free to contact them directly with inquiries about possible collaboration. If you would like to work with a faculty member not in the list below, please contact GW-CIBER’s office first so that we can inform them of the details of our program.
