Grants for GW Graduates
The GW School of Business is dedicated to supporting its alumni in achieving their professional and academic goals. As part of this commitment, we are offering exclusive tuition grants of 25–50% for all GW undergraduate alumni from the Class of 2019 through the most recent graduating class applying for the upcoming admission terms (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026).
These tuition grants apply to most GW School of Business MBA and Specialized Master’s programs, as well as all credit-bearing graduate certificates. Additionally, GWSB offers many graduate program options fully online, making it a great option for alum and graduating seniors across the U.S. and worldwide. With full-time and part-time study options, GWSB graduate programs are designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s professionals, making it easier to advance your career while earning a highly respected, competitive credential. - Who is eligible for the tuition grant?
All GW undergraduate alumni from the Class of 2019 through the most recent graduating class who are applying to the upcoming admission terms (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026).
- How much is the tuition grant?
Grants for Graduates-eligible students who wish to pursue a master's degree or a stand-alone graduate certificate will receive 25-50% off the cost of tuition for the program. The grant applies to tuition and does not include any fees associated with graduate programs, such as enrollment fees. The official schedules of tuition and fees can be accessed through the Student Accounts Office’s Graduate Tuition page. If applicable, the grant includes a 10% discount through the Grad2Grad program, for which students are automatically enrolled (no separate application required).
- To which GW School of Business graduate programs does the tuition grant apply?
The tuition grant applies to all Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees, Specialized Master's degrees, and all graduate certificates offered for credit at the GW School of Business.
- Are there any GWSB graduate programs to which the tuition grant does not apply?
The grants do not apply to any Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees. The grants also do not apply to GWSB non-credit-bearing graduate and executive education programs, including short courses and non-credit-bearing certificates.
- Which degree programs are offered fully online?
GW School of Business graduate students often mix-and-match learning online and on campus. For graduating seniors located across the U.S. and around the world, there are many graduate program options offered fully online. Please refer to our online programs page for more information.
- What are the graduate admissions requirements for those who wish to apply for the tuition grant?
Admissions requirements for GW undergraduate seniors or recent graduates applying for the tuition grant are the same as any other students applying to the School of Business graduate program. Please check the program page for program-specific admission requirements. Those interested in applying to the Grants for Graduates program benefit from a shortened application process and an application fee waiver. To complete your application, you only need a personal statement and resume (we will directly upload your GW transcripts).
- What about GMAT/GRE test waivers?
As of December 1, 2020, the GW School of Business has implemented a test-optional policy for all specialized master’s degree applications.
- When will the GW School of Business offer the tuition grant?
The grant will be awarded to GW undergraduate alumni from the Class of 2019 through the most recent graduating class applying to the upcoming admission terms (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026). You will be notified of your award in your admission decision letter and receive an official award letter stating the award requirements needed to maintain your award.
- How long will the tuition grant apply?
The tuition grant applies towards the tuition of any course completed for the program. Summer semesters can be included, but are not required.
- What are the requirements to maintain eligibility for the tuition grant?
To maintain eligibility, students must be continuously enrolled, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the qualifying graduate GW School of Business program, and be free of any student corrective or disciplinary action.
- When does the grant apply to students participating in the GW School of Business 4+1 Program?
The tuition grant applies when students enter the graduate portion of their program and start paying the master’s degree per-credit rate tuition.
- How does the grant relate to the Grad2Grad program?
If applicable, the grant includes a 10% discount through the Grad2Grad program, for which students are automatically enrolled (no separate application required).
- How does the tuition grant apply to eligible students who are also employees of the university?
