Submit Program Proposal

Bringing a short-term experiential program to life starts with a well-crafted proposal. This page guides you through the submission process and connects you to the appropriate application for your program type.

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Departmental approval from your chair
  • A clear course concept, including topic, location, and learning objectives
  • A draft syllabus, itinerary, and budget

If  you have multiple submissions:

  • Submit a separate proposal for each program type (CAP, STAP, B&S).
  • For multiple subjects or destinations within the same program type, a single application is sufficient.

What happens next?

Proposals are evaluated by a review committee for their innovative approaches and curricular fit for the intended audience.

After a proposal is approved, the Office of Global and Experiential Education works with the faculty to maintain a program budget, recruit students, collect student applications, create CRNs, secure classroom space on campus (if applicable), register students, provide insurance coverage, process financial payments, distribute health & safety information, and collect student evaluations. Faculty members focus on the academic content and development of the course, as well as all of the arrangements of the offsite component of the program.
