Facilities Services

Facilities Services

In addition to scheduling and event management services, GWSB Operations liaises with Facilities, Planning, Construction and Management (FPCM) on building maintenance and custodial services issues.

Elevators
  • Submit a FixIt ticket for any non-emergency elevator issues in Duquès and Funger Halls such as:
    • An elevator not operating
    • Elevator buttons not working properly
    • Elevator doors opening and closing slowly or getting stuck between floors
    • Elevators making unusual noises
  • If your keys, GWorld Card or credit cards are dropped down an elevator shaft, please contact GW Facilities Central at 202-994-6706 (choose option 2). Make sure to include the elevator number listed on the wall so the technician will know which shaft to check.
    • Found keys will be dropped off at the Support Building, 2025 F Street NW, Suite 101.
FixIt Tickets
  • GWSB faculty and staff can submit a FixIt ticket for maintenance or repair requests. An email confirmation will be sent once the service request has been submitted. GW Facilities Central monitors requests 24 hours a day and can be contacted at 202-994-6706 to report a water leak, significant physical damage or any non-life-threatening maintenance issues.
  • Departmental managers are encouraged to support faculty in the submission of any Fix-it tickets associated with their office or instructional space.
  • GWSB Operations is responsible for submitting chargeable Fix-It tickets and the escalation of any major maintenance or repair issues. Please email [email protected].
GWorld Card Access and Keys
  • Granting GWorld Card Access & Keys
    • GWSB Operations is responsible for granting GWorld access to suites and providing office keys within Duquès and Funger Halls to new faculty, staff, and student staff.
    • If a key is in the GWSB Operations inventory, it will be delivered immediately. If not, GWSB Operations will submit a chargeable FixIt ticket to request a new key. Ordering a new or replacement key can take up to two weeks.
    • Only department chairs, supervisors, and department administrative managers have GWorld card access and key request authorization and should complete the GWorld Access & Key Request Form to request GWorld card access and keys to suites and offices.
  • Permanently Lost or Stolen GWorld Cards
    • If your GWorld card is lost or stolen, this is considered to be a key emergency. GWSB faculty and staff must file a theft report with GWPD (202-994-6111). Make a note of the claim number for verification with GWorld Card Office.
    • Visit the GWorld Card Office during business hours to obtain a replacement. After normal business hours, visit GWorld Card Office to suspend or replace your GWorld card.
  • Permanently Lost or Stolen Keys
    • If your keys are lost or stolen, this is considered to be a key emergency. GWSB faculty and staff must file a theft report with GWPD (202-994-6111). Make a note of the claim number for verification with Key Depot.
    • Contact the Key Depot at 202-994-6706, select option 1. Facilities Services will need to change the locks.
    • After these steps have been completed, email [email protected] for awareness.
Life-threatening Emergencies

If you have a life-threatening emergency, such as a fire, gas leak, or evidence of a break-in or theft, call GWPD immediately at 202-994-6111.
