Graduate Student Engagement Events

Creating more close-knit academic communities can be a challenge — but we've responded to your feedback with our Graduate Student Engagement events, which provide an opportunity for both current and prospective grad students to network and discuss their academic careers in a fun, relaxed setting. These events include meet-and-greet breakfasts and dinners, online happy hours, and roundtable discussions with industry leaders, fellow students, faculty, and GWSB leadership.

All upcoming Graduate Student Engagement events are shown below. If none appear, none are currently scheduled. Please note that all Fall 2020 events will be held online to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff.

Graduate Student Industry Roundtable

In our graduate student industry roundtables, small groups of students are pre-matched with a discussion leader based on career and industry interests and are given three questions in advance to prepare for the roundtable event. Alumni, recruiters, and other friends of GWSB then facilitate a conversation with students based on the questions.

Graduate Student Movie Night: Favorite Holiday Films

Before our graduate student movie nights, students participate in a poll to pick the movie that will be featured at the event. Movie night participants are students, faculty, and staff. First, participants watch the movie on their own at home and participate in a live chat as we go through the film. After the film, participants gather to share their thoughts and reactions to the movie.
