Pilar is a career consultant at the FDFCC advising the MBA population and the specialized master's in energy, technology, healthcare, international business, international development, and non-profits. She has experience providing strategic advice to multinational corporations and startups in business and law in both Latin America and the USA. Pilar has a passion for improving the life of others and took over projects in economic development and social entrepreneurship to help Peruvian small enterprises enter the US market benefitting small communities. Pilar has managed her own business within the social entrepreneurial concept and has provided strategy and business development support to a number of non-profit organizations.
She further gained worldwide exposure as in-house counsel for international operations for Blackboard Inc., education technology company in Washington DC. In the energy industry, at Solar Turbines/Caterpillar, she was in charge of international commercial agreements, management, and negotiations for the oil & gas and power generation sectors for over 30 countries in all continents. She managed a San Diego corporation for three years and led a business startup from concept to roll out. She also held a COO and VP of Business Development role for Etancol, a US clean energy company conducting ethanol related businesses in Colombia. Pilar is fluent in English and Spanish and has worked in Portuguese and French. She earned an M.B.A from George Washington University, and a J.D. from Catholic University of Peru. She is a SixSigma GreenBelt.
