Message From the Dean — Summer 2024

June 24, 2024

Dear GW Business Community,

It was a joy to celebrate our Class of 2024 during this latest Commencement season. It is the culmination of their accomplishments, and it represents the outcome of a learning environment composed of a community that is committed to their success. I thank our faculty and staff, not only for their efforts in support of our academic mission, but also for fostering our leadership and engagement as a business school in local, national and global society. Together we have made progress on several aspects of our core mission:

I am thankful to those who helped our school attain these and many other accomplishments, including the graduation of a new cohort of MBA in Security Technology Transition (MBA-STT) students.

Recognizing our Class of 2024, including 370 undergraduate programs graduates, and 830 master’s and doctoral graduates, was an honor. We are incredibly proud of them all. It was also an honor to recognize our award recipients at this year’s Student and Faculty Awards Ceremony, as well as those who received the Dean’s Awards for Excellence. I would also like to congratulate the students who have participated and excelled in recent experiential learning endeavors, including this year’s New Venture Competition, where GW Business students belonged to several of the winning teams and top ranked teams, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Impact Investing Challenge.

I wish our entire community the best  as we continue in the summer months. Thank you for your dedication to our school, which remains a source of pride. Special thanks to the faculty and staff who attended our town hall meetings earlier this month. As I shared, I will remain as interim dean while the search process for a new dean continues and your continued feedback and engagement is appreciated.

Best wishes,
