Vivek Choudhury, associate dean for strategic initiatives, has accepted an appointment as dean of the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. He will remain in his present position at GWSB through July 31.
“Vivek’s departure will be a great loss for GWSB and for me personally. Yet we all know that Vivek has the experience and character to be the dean of an important institution,” Dean Anuj Mehrotra said. “Since I arrived in Washington, D.C., Vivek has been a wonderful counselor and supporter. I am grateful for his commitment to moving our strategic agenda forward and leading the launch of our new initiative, ‘George Talks Business,’ which has helped further engage our community. Vivek also led the successful AACSB re-accreditation.”
Dr. Choudhury joined the GWSB faculty in 2016 as a professor of ISTM and associate dean for graduate programs. He also served as GWSB’s interim dean before assuming his current role. Prior to coming to GWSB, he was on the faculty and held various leadership posts at the University of Cincinnati’s Lindner College of Business.
“Under Vivek’s leadership, we believe Daniels will become even stronger and better able to help students prepare for work and careers in the 21st century,” University of Denver Chancellor Rebecca Chopp said. “Vivek shares DU’s commitment to innovation. He understands what has traditionally helped business schools succeed, and he has a vision for what they need to succeed in the future.”
