Yixin Lu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Technology Management. Professor Lu works at the intersection of Information Systems, Economics, and Public Policy by examining the broad impact of technological advances on individuals, organizations, and society. Her research has shed light on complex dynamics in both traditional markets and emerging digital platforms, leading to practical insights in market design and operations. Professor Lu is a recipient of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Impact Award (2020), the AIS Early Career Award (2021), and the INFORMS Information Systems Society Design Science Award (2021).
Professor Lu has been serving as an Associate Editor of Information Systems Research since 2022, and received the Best Associate Editor Award in 2024. She also serves as a reviewer for many flagship business/management journals, and has taken significant roles such as program co-chairs and associate editors in major field conferences. Professor Lu has been honored with the title of Senior Member by INFORMS and the title of Distinguished Member by AIS.
Professor Lu's research has been published in leading journals including Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, and Production and Operations Management. Her scholarly works have been recognized by numerous awards, including nominations for Best Paper Awards at the Conference on Health IT and Analytics, the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, the European Research Paper of the Year, and the Conference on Information Systems and Technology.
Professor Lu holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Management from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. She has collaborated with leading companies and organizations across different sectors such as energy, floriculture, programmatic advertising, retail, and transportation, among others. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., she worked as a scientific consultant, with a focus on process optimization in the semiconductor industry.
