The George Washington University School of Business is sad to report the passing of Stanley Newton Sherman, professor emeritus of business administration, and offers its sincere condolences to his family.
Dr. Sherman joined the GWSB faculty in 1968. During his more than 30 years at the School of Business, he served as chairman of the Marketing Department and the Logistics and Operations Management Department. He also founded the school’s logistics, operations and materials management program.
“Stan was the pillar of the logistics program, and started the procurement and contracting program at GWSB,” Prabir Bagchi, professor of operations and supply chain management, said. “He was well liked by students and faculty, and will be remembered by many people, especially the scores of students he taught.”
May he rest in peace.
