Annamaria Lusardi, Denit Trust Endowed Chair of Economics and Accountancy at the George Washington University School of Business, has been appointed to the distinguished position of University Professor. Dr. Lusardi’s appointment to the highest active faculty position is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2020.

Dean Anuj Mehrotra congratulated Dr. Lusardi on her appointment:

“I am extremely proud to congratulate Professor Annamaria Lusardi on her appointment to the rank of University Professor of Economics and Accountancy. She is indeed most deserving of this prestigious honor, as one of only eight George Washington University faculty members to currently hold the University Professor designation.

“As GWSB’s Denit Trust Endowed Chair of Economics and Accountancy, and founder and academic director of the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center, Dr. Lusardi has established a well-earned worldwide reputation as the expert in her field, through her tireless research and promotion of financial literacy education.

“It is particularly fitting that she should be so honored at this time when her work is so vital to the millions whose personal finances have been threatened or disrupted by the effects of global COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Lusardi’s research and teachings can make an important difference for those who have been affected.

“I know the entire GWSB community joins me in congratulating you, Anna. You have made us #GWSB proud.”
