We are thrilled that you are applying to GW Business! Below, please find resources detailing additional questions and options that are available to you through your Applicant Status Portal.
Your Status Portal will serve as your application hub, containing all your information. You can check in on your application documents, update your personal information, and access additional information regarding application updates.

- How do I reset my account password?
Having issues logging into your account? Learn how to reset your account password to access your application or Status Portal.
- I am applying for a 4+1 program. What start term should I select?
If applying for the 4+1 program, your graduate start term should be the term following the semester you will complete your undergraduate program (i.e., if graduating in May 2026, apply for Fall 2026). If you are graduating in over a year's time, you may notice that your term is not yet available. In this case, when applying, please fill out your Expected Graduation Date when inputting your GWU education information. This information will be used to update your application to the correct term.
- I’d like an Application Fee Waiver. How do I get one?
Application Fee Waivers are provided to all attendees of our Open House and Info Sessions events. We offer in-person and virtual options that allow interested prospective students to learn more about the academic and professional opportunities here at GW Business.
- I requested an Application Fee Waiver for Financial Need. How do I get that applied?
If you request a Fee Waiver for Financial Need through the application, you will receive an emailed Request Form within 24 hours of submitting your application, or you can access this form using our Status Portal. Please fill out the Request Form, and your request will be manually reviewed within 5 business days. You will be notified once a decision has been made. Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee approval, and requests may be denied.
- How do I review my application requirements and missing documents?
You can review your program’s application requirements and missing documents in your Status Portal. Learn more about your Application Checklist and how to view any missing documents. Please keep in mind that documents submitted through the portal will not reflect immediately. Please allow at least 2 hours for changes to be reflected.
- How do I add documents to my application after submission?
Post submission, you can add documents through your Status Portal.
- How do I add a new Recommender after application submission?
You can add a recommender using these instructions on our Status Portal. Once added, an email will be sent to your recommender to submit their recommendation.
- How do I send an email reminder to my recommenders?
You can send your recommenders a reminder to submit their recommendation letter via your Status Portal.
- My recommender is unable to submit the recommendation form. What should they do?
If your recommender is not able to receive or submit the recommendation through the system due to communications firewalls or other issues, they can email their recommendation directly to us at business
gwu [dot] edu (business[at]gwu[dot]edu) as a PDF. Please ensure that they include your name, program, and application number in the Subject or Heading of their email.
- How do I update my personal information?
You can update your preferred name, email address, phone number, mailing address, gender & identity, and your social security number (SSN) directly through your Status Portal.
- How do I review my test scores that have been received?
You can review all the test scores that have been received for your application through the Status Portal.
- I am eligible for an English Language Waiver. How long until it is reflected on my Application Checklist?
Waivers for eligible applicants will be reflected in the system within 5-7 business days and will be updated on your Status Portal once applied. If you believe you are eligible for a waiver and one has not been posted within this timeframe, please contact business

- How do I view my decision?
Once a decision is made on your application, you will receive an email notification to view your Decision in the Status Portal.
- I have submitted an application to GW Business. Can I submit another application?
You can submit additional applications for a different program within the GW Business, or you are welcome to apply to programs housed in one of our other GW Graduate Schools. You will be able to review all active submitted applications from your Status Portal. When submitting a new application, you will be prompted to submit a new Statement of Purpose and recommenders.
- How do I change the term of my application?
The term of your application is the semester that you are applying to start classes - for example, Fall 2027 or Spring 2026. You can change the term of your application in your Status Portal.
- How do I change the program of my application?
If you have submitted your application and would like to change the program that you are applying to, you will need to submit a new application. For this additional application, relevant information from your initial application will pre-populate into some areas of the application.
- How do I withdraw my application?
You can request that your application be withdrawn from the review process via the Status Portal by using the Manage My Application button listed under Account Tools.
