Meet the GW Business Alumni Behind the Campaign
After arriving in D.C. from around the world, they found a sense of belonging. Through runs past the monuments and friendships that have extended beyond graduation, their experiences reflect transformation, resilience and growth. Today, they’re leading international audits, navigating the fast-paced world of finance in New York and building momentum in their careers.
Discover where they started, where they are now and how GW Business helped shape their path forward. Being “steps away” isn't just about location, it's about the connections and opportunities you carry with you long after graduation.
Macarena Mar
When Macarena Martinez arrived at GW from Chile, she nearly walked away from the class that would change her future. Instead, she stayed—and found the confidence, skills and global perspective that now shape her career every day.

From Student in D.C. to Real Estate Finance Analyst in New York
Lindsey spent five years in Washington, D.C., completing both her undergraduate and master’s degrees at the George Washington University School of Business. Tyana Kennedy
Building Career Momentum Post-MBA
Tyana Kennedy, MBA ’25, is currently a Test Manager for a government agency. Since graduation, she has focused on pursuing roles more closely aligned with the skills she gained through her MBA.
She highlights one of the key benefits of attending GW: the social networking opportunities. While it can be a little harder to access these connections after graduation, the networks she built during grad school have continued to provide opportunities for professional growth.
