The following GW Business faculty and staff members were recognized in May 2026 for their outstanding contributions in research, teaching, service and in enhancing the reputation of the school.
Dr. Margaret Ormiston, associate professor of management, received the Dean’s Senior Faculty Research Award, a prize that recognizes sustained, outstanding and continuing contribution to scholarly research in the field of business and noteworthy contributions to GW Business’s research culture. Dr. Ormiston was given this award for her distinguished record of scholarly excellence and her pivotal role in securing one of the largest federally funded grants in GW Business history (a $2.1 million NIH award). Her focus on the importance of multidisciplinary, federally funded research is accompanied by her critical insights into leadership dynamics, CEO emotional stability and organizational behavior.
The Dean’s Emerging Scholar Award, which recognizes impactful research, including an ongoing research program that promises to make a significant contribution to business scholarship, was awarded to Dr. Chukwuma Dim. The associate professor of finance has a research record that rivals tenured faculty, with three top-tier publications and multiple high-level revisions in progress. He and his research utilize advanced AI and technical skills to investigate how investors process information and form beliefs. His advanced, scholarly research has earned him prestigious honors, including the Cromwell and Brattle Group awards, and invitations to present at elite venues such as the NBER Big Data conference.
Recognized for his outstanding teaching contributions, Dr. Jin Hyung Kim received the Dean’s Teaching Award. The 2026 Trachtenberg Prize for Teaching Excellence recipient (GW’s most prestigious teaching honor) is known for his extraordinary ability to engage students while teaching multiple sections of the core International Business curriculum. On top of this, he is a leading scholar in non-market and global strategy, exploring how firms navigate corporate lobbying, regulatory changes and business-government relations.
Dr. Patrick Hall received the Dean’s Faculty Service Award, which recognizes Dr. Hall’s exceptional service contributions to the school as he spearheads the integration of responsible AI across the school’s curriculum and operations (referencing his work with NIST on AI risk management). The newly named Chief AI Officer also transformed the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) capstone into a high-impact case competition and expanded GW Business’s corporate network by eight new partner companies, opening doors for full-time career placements for students.
Associate Professor of Sport Management and Director of the MS in Sport Management program, Dr. Lisa Delpy Neirotti, received the Dean’s External Engagement Award. This award recognizes faculty who frequently engage with external stakeholders (alumni, the local business community, and the media) and, as a result, garner positive recognition for the school over multiple years. Dr. Neirotti engages with the sports industry as a premier global expert. She engages through conferences (such as the Sport Industry Networking and Career conference), student research missions (to the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cups) and across several media outlets. As a powerful ambassador for the school, Dr. Neirotti serves as a mentor to the next generation of sport business leaders.
The Dean’s Staff Service was given to Rochelle Rediang, the administrative manager for the departments of Strategic Management & Public Policy and Accountancy. This award recognizes extraordinary and sustained service contributions, typically extending beyond usual duties and over multiple years, that help support and promote a culture of excellence at GW Business. Beyond the management complexities of two distinct departments, she also served as a dedicated mentor to new administrators and frequently engages in school-wide initiatives on a volunteer basis.
In addition to the Dean’s Awards, the following faculty were recognized:
