GWSB Master of Tourism Administration program students Crystal Liao and Louis Liu collected recyclables at Nationals Park during the Major League Baseball All-Star Futures Game (showcasing top minor league players) on Sunday afternoon, July 15.

More than a dozen GW students, including several from GWSB’s sport management program, are on-site for this week’s Midsummer Classic as members of the All-Star Green Team, part of an extensive MLB initiative to promote environmental sustainability in America’s Pastime.

The GW Green Team members spent Friday cleaning and landscaping the ball field at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington’s Clubhouse #14. On Sunday they volunteered at Nationals Park for both the Futures and All-Star Legends and Celebrity games. They will be at the stadium for the Home Run Derby on Monday night and for the main event, the 89th MLB All-Star Game, on Tuesday night, July 17.
