David Halliday is the vice dean for undergraduate programs at the George Washington University School of Business, where he oversees the curriculum, advising, and student experience for 1,900 undergraduates.
Halliday is also a teaching associate professor of Strategic Management and Public Policy. He teaches business strategy to undergraduate and graduate students. He has led student consulting teams in South Africa and taught at Sciences Po in Paris. His teaching has been recognized with the Dean's Teaching Award and outstanding faculty awards in the Masters in Management and online MBA programs.
Outside the classroom, Halliday builds tools for teaching strategy. He published two case studies on the safari industry and designed two simulations on competitive dynamics, "Vertical Takeoff" on the flying car industry and "Streaming Wars" on the subscription video industry. He also hosts a YouTube series on strategy fundamentals with more than 260,000 views, assigned by faculty from around the world. Before academia, he produced documentary video and worked as a research analyst at a global macro hedge fund. He holds a BA in Humanities from Stanford University, an MBA from Yale University, and a PhD in Strategy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
