Message From the Dean — April 2024

April 22, 2024

Dear GW Business Community,

Commencement season is before us. I am sure I speak for all of our graduating students as well as their parents and families in expressing how proud I am of our Class of 2024. Please make sure to register if you have not already done so.

Giving Day was another success this year. The university surpassed a record, raising $1.8 million from more than 3,000 donors. I would like to thank everyone who gave and helped spread the word about giving in support of student scholarships, faculty initiatives, and other areas of our School of Business and GW community.

We were also very proud of the interest and engagement in our 2024 GW Business & Policy Forum. We had 833 registrants, and more than 30 speakers. There is a great highlight from the forum in GW Today, featuring our opening speaker David Rubenstein, our alumni speakers, and the partners who joined us in hosting the forum.

The GW School of Business hosted The Future of Finance and Trade in Africa conference on April 17, in partnership with the Institute for International Economic Policy (IIEP) at the Elliott School for International Affairs and the Believe in Africa Foundation. This was a great way to showcase the collaboration within GW, and the leadership in global business demonstrated by The Growth Dialogue and other centers and institutes within our school.

I would also like to share more about the results of our AACSB reaccreditation, including how our existing areas of excellence can be strengthened.

Congratulations to our Class of 2024! I look forward to celebrating with you and your loved ones.

Regards,

Vanessa Perry signature
