Facilities Services
In addition to scheduling and event management services, GWSB Operations liaises with Facilities, Planning, Construction and Management (FPCM) on building maintenance and custodial services issues.
- Elevators
- Submit a FixIt ticket for any non-emergency elevator issues in Duquès and Funger Halls such as:
- An elevator not operating
- Elevator buttons not working properly
- Elevator doors opening and closing slowly or getting stuck between floors
- Elevators making unusual noises
- If your keys, GWorld Card or credit cards are dropped down an elevator shaft, please contact GW Facilities Central at 202-994-6706 (choose option 2). Make sure to include the elevator number listed on the wall so the technician will know which shaft to check.
- Found keys will be dropped off at the Support Building, 2025 F Street NW, Suite 101.
- Submit a FixIt ticket for any non-emergency elevator issues in Duquès and Funger Halls such as:

- GWSB faculty and staff can submit a FixIt ticket for maintenance or repair requests. An email confirmation will be sent once the service request has been submitted. GW Facilities Central monitors requests 24 hours a day and can be contacted at 202-994-6706 to report a water leak, significant physical damage or any non-life-threatening maintenance issues.
- Departmental managers are encouraged to support faculty in the submission of any Fix-it tickets associated with their office or instructional space.
- GWSB Operations is responsible for submitting chargeable Fix-It tickets and the escalation of any major maintenance or repair issues. Please email [email protected].
- GWorld Card Access and Keys
- Granting GWorld Card Access & Keys
- GWSB Operations is responsible for granting GWorld access to suites and providing office keys within Duquès and Funger Halls to new faculty, staff, and student staff.
- If a key is in the GWSB Operations inventory, it will be delivered immediately. If not, GWSB Operations will submit a chargeable FixIt ticket to request a new key. Ordering a new or replacement key can take up to two weeks.
- Only department chairs, supervisors, and department administrative managers have GWorld card access and key request authorization and should complete the GWorld Access & Key Request Form to request GWorld card access and keys to suites and offices.
- Permanently Lost or Stolen GWorld Cards
- If your GWorld card is lost or stolen, this is considered to be a key emergency. GWSB faculty and staff must file a theft report with GWPD (202-994-6111). Make a note of the claim number for verification with GWorld Card Office.
- Visit the GWorld Card Office during business hours to obtain a replacement. After normal business hours, visit GWorld Card Office to suspend or replace your GWorld card.
- Permanently Lost or Stolen Keys
- If your keys are lost or stolen, this is considered to be a key emergency. GWSB faculty and staff must file a theft report with GWPD (202-994-6111). Make a note of the claim number for verification with Key Depot.
- Contact the Key Depot at 202-994-6706, select option 1. Facilities Services will need to change the locks.
- After these steps have been completed, email [email protected] for awareness.
- Granting GWorld Card Access & Keys
- Life-threatening Emergencies
If you have a life-threatening emergency, such as a fire, gas leak, or evidence of a break-in or theft, call GWPD immediately at 202-994-6111.
- Lockouts
GWSB faculty or staff who are locked out of a room or suite they are authorized to use should contact GWPD at 202-994-6110 after normal business hours. GWPD will request to see your GWorld card or GWID verification with photo ID.
- Lost and Found
- Lost items found in Duquès and Funger Halls or anywhere on campus may be turned into Lost & Found at the Support Building, 2025 F Street, Suite 101. Operational hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week.
- There is an after-hours drop box for found property at the same location.
- For lost items, check the Found Property Log.
- Safety Reminders
- For situations that are urgent, critical, or an emergency, the GW Division of Safety and Operations will communicate through:
- Text messages
- Guardian app
- Campus Advisories website
Examples of critical situations include sheltering in place due to a weather emergency or an ongoing dangerous situation.
