Dear GW Business Community,
As the new dean of the George Washington University School of Business, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the start of a new academic year. I am honored to join this vibrant and distinguished community of students, staff, faculty, and scholars.
As we begin this new chapter together, I am filled with optimism and a deep sense of responsibility. The past few years have brought rapid innovation and transformation across both higher education and industry.
Before joining GW Business, I served as dean of the Simon Business School, where I led strategic growth in analytics and artificial intelligence. I am excited to bring that same spirit of agility and forward-thinking to GW Business.
To our returning community members, welcome back! And to our new students, faculty, staff, and families, a very warm welcome. At the heart of our school is our people: a diverse and inclusive community united by a passion for learning, leadership, and creating positive impact in business and society. We are thrilled to have you join us.
Our location in the heart of Washington, D.C., combined with the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary programs, offers a powerful platform for preparing students to lead in an evolving global economy.
I encourage all of you to be engaged participants and take full advantage of the many opportunities GW Business and the larger GW community offer. I look forward to supporting you as you pursue your academic and professional goals.
At the same time, I want to express my gratitude to Interim Dean Vanessa Perry for her leadership. Her support will be invaluable as I transition into this role. On Friday, she stepped into her new role as Interim Vice Dean at GW’s School of Business, for which she will continue to bring her thoughtful and strategic approach to leadership.
Although I've only been here for a brief time, I already feel the incredible energy at GW Business, and I am eager to become thoroughly acquainted with those who make it all possible.
Together, we will carry out our purpose-driven mission and make meaningful change in the classroom, in business, and beyond. I am truly excited for the year ahead.
Raise High!
Sevin Yeltekin
