Lisa Delpy Neirotti and the Positive Impact of Sports

Lisa Delpy Neirotti, associate professor of sport management and director of the master’s of sport management and tourism administration programs, was in Los Angeles on July 18 to give a presentation on “The State of Sport for Good” at the Laureus USA Summit.

A survey of approximately 150 non-profit organizations using sports for social change revealed that more than 850,000 young people have benefited from such programs, which help to improve health and education outcomes, and reduce crime and violence.

Founded by the late South African President Nelson Mandela, the Laureus Foundation is committed to the belief that sports can change the world. Laureus USA is dedicated to using sports and physical activity to address the most challenging problems facing children in America’s diverse cities.
