Internships and Independent Study
Internships provide students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and gain deeper practical understanding of the business world. While GWSB does not award academic credit for internships, students still have two options for receiving recognition for their internships if they wish to do so:
- Option 1: BADM 4950 – Zero-Credit Internship course
- Option 2: UNIV 2001 – Elective Internship
- Option 3: BADM 4995 – Independent Study conducted in tandem with an internship
Completing an Independent Study project
Students have the option to pursue research under the direction of a GWSB faculty member and earn from 1-3 credits. Consent to supervise BADM 4995: Independent Study is at the discretion of the faculty member and is not guaranteed. Students are strongly encouraged to talk with their GWSB advisor before pursuing this option in order to see if BADM 4995 can be used to fulfill a degree requirement.
How to register for these options
Students who wish to enroll in BADM 4950 or BADM 4995 should refer to the Forms page for the appropriate paperwork.
Students who wish to enroll in UNIV 2001 should refer to this page.
