Internships and Independent Research

Internships

Internships provide students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and gain deeper practical understanding of the business world.  While GWSB does not award academic credit for internships, students still have two options for receiving recognition for their internships if they wish to do so:

  • Option 1: BADM 4950 – Zero-Credit Internship course
  • Option 2: BADM 4995 – Independent Research conducted in tandem with an internship

Further information on these 2 options can be found in our Overview of Internship Options for GWSB students.

Completing an Independent Research project

Students have the option to pursue research under the direction of a GWSB faculty member and earn from 1-3 credits. Consent to supervise BADM 4995: Independent Research is at the discretion of the faculty member and is not guaranteed. Students are strongly encouraged to talk with their GWSB advisor before pursuing this option in order to see if BADM 4995 can be used to fulfill a degree requirement.

How to register for these options

Students who wish to enroll in BADM 4950 or BADM 4995 should refer to the Forms page for the appropriate paperwork.
