IITS Professional Services

The IITS is a gathering place for tourism sector leaders, stakeholders and organizations. In addition to working on a wide variety of tourism development and consulting projects, the IITS has developed more than 40 condensed professional-development courses for countries and organizations around the world. These training programs provide the tools local institutions need to offer quality tourism education without U.S. assistance once the program has been completed.

Customized Courses

Our professional development courses can be customized to meet the specific objectives of governments and agencies, associations, not-for-profit organizations and corporations.  Programs can be delivered anywhere in the world through traditional, in-person workshops or remotely through online education. All courses are taught by leading professionals and can be translated in your language.

Customized training programs have been conducted in Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Brazil, Mozambique, Bulgaria, Panama, and Honduras among others. We have also carried out customized programs for clients including the US Environmental Protection Agency, National Trust for Historic Preservation, World Bank, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, Green Globe Alliance, Pan American Federation of Hotels and Tourism Schools, US Agency for International Development, Inter-American Development Bank, National Park Service and Capital One.

Tourism Advising & Consulting

The IITS provides both guidance and technical assistance, building on the institute’s knowledge base and international connections. From working closely with the Crow Nation of Montana to help develop its tourism potential, to helping form the Ethiopia Sustainable Tourism Alliance, to developing a strategic plan for Destination DC, the IITS is proficient in working with a diverse array of stakeholders  on local, regional and national tourism projects.
