Morounmubo (Mubo) Sani is an administrative and development professional. Currently, she is the Executive Assistant to the AVP, Development and Alumni Relations, GWU School of Business where she supports fundraising drive, budgeting, and office re-organization, as well as maintains records and the office. Previously, she was a database coordinator with the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation, Inc. Rockville, Maryland where she configured the database to effectively maintain records and fundraising initiatives while developing new systems.
Prior to this time, she was a development coordinator with the R. H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland from May 2005 to April 2013 where was coordinated fund-raising and operational activities from discovery to stewardship. Here, she managed several databases and systems. Also, she contributed to the team’s success in exceeding its campaign goals consecutively for six years. In September 2009, she was recognized as UMCP, University Relations 2009 outstanding employee.
From September 1998 to May 2005, she was an assistant and transcriptionist with Silver Spring Chiropractic (now dba SmartMedical, Inc.) in Silver Spring, Maryland. Prior to which she was a senior teacher/assistant with the Young Men’s Christian Association Children’s Center, Silver Spring from September 1995 to September 1998.
From 1992 to 1995, Mubo was on leave of absence due to her husband’s diplomatic posting to the USA. Prior to her leave of absence, she was Principal Secretary to the Director-General Federal Civil Service Commission; Political Affairs Department – Cabinet Office; Ministry of Information and Culture, Nigeria, from 1984 to 1992. In 1988, 1989, and 1990, she served in Saudia Arabia as a Pilgrims’ Welfare Officer with the Nigerian Pilgrims Board, where she managed pilgrims’ welfare and reports, as well as contributed to the proper conduct of pilgrims’ abroad.
Mubo has managed more than 10,000,000 complex records from various databases, systems, and researched information from various sources. As an accomplished professional, she has identified and utilized effective techniques to manage fund-raising activities and utilized financial systems to adequately organize financial records, contributed to the reduction of operational costs and balanced budgets. She is adept in managing various databases, systems, software, and social network media. She is also adept in connecting the dots in fundraising strategies.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with minors in Public Policy and Business Law from the University of Maryland University College. She is also a graduate of Federal Training Center (secretarial college), Kaduna, Nigeria. Mubo has also taken several professional development training, including in computer applications and in early childhood education.
As an organized professional, Mubo has balanced her personal and professional life. In 1998, she was awarded Outstanding Support Parent, Making A Better Choice Program Montgomery County Public Schools. Mubo resides in Maryland, USA with her family. She loves to entertain family and friends in her home.
