Milinda Balthrop is the associate program director of the Communities of Practice (CoP) at the F. David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) and has served in the role of adjunct lecturer at the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB).    

Milinda comes to GWSB as a former executive and partner in IBM’s Global Business Services (GBS) where she served as a trusted advisor to federal C-suite clients regarding services and technologies to achieve mission fulfillment. In her early career as a PricewaterhouseCoopers consultant, Milinda assisted clients with strategic communications, system implementations, business process improvement, and organizational transformations.

Milinda oversees the design and delivery of the Communities of Practice, a rigorous two-year experiential learning program. The CoP equips students with the tools, preparation and network connections needed for industry success by providing skills training, immersive experiences and mentoring. Milinda is also the CoP Engagement Manager for student teams across a variety of for profit and nonprofit pro bono projects.
