Dr. Irina Orlova is the assistant dean for strategic initiatives and special projects at the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB). In this role, she spearheads the administrative aspects of the school’s strategic planning process and AACSB accreditation review and coordinates all GWSB rankings activity. She also oversees the development and implementation of new initiatives in support of the dean's vision, including Dean’s Corporate Council and George Talks Business distinguished speaker series.
Dr. Orlova has nearly twenty years of experience in higher education, most recently in developing business student career and alumni mentorship programs, and currently teaches Business Leader Career Strategy course for undergraduate business students. Prior to joining GWSB in 2011, she served as Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, and lecturer at the department of foreign languages for humanities at Petrozavodsk State University in Russia.
Dr. Orlova received her doctorate in education from the George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development, her master’s in education from the College of Saint Rose, and her bachelor's degree in history from Petrozavodsk State University in Russia.
