Helen Iasnik received her MA of Education & Human Development in Higher Education Administration from GW and a BS in Human Development from Binghamton University in New York. She began her career at The George Washington University in the Office of the Registrar in December 2008, later joining the GWSB Advising Team in January 2013 as an Undergraduate Student Experience Advisor. Throughout her time as an Advisor, Helen has specialized in study abroad, working to increase GWSB undergraduate study abroad enrollment and more specifically, participation in GWSB Signature Abroad Programs. Most recently, Helen assisted with a short-term abroad Finance course to Israel. She also served as a member of various university-wide committees pertaining to undergraduate matters (Colonial Inauguration & international student initiatives), and has led co-curricular programming, such as GWSB’s Marketing NY Networking Trek. In addition to advising, Helen has taught in the First Year Development Program since Spring 2013. She grew up in the Catskills of NY. In her spare time, she enjoys attending concerts and traveling.
As one of two Assistant Directors she supervises the Academic Advisors, facilitates and oversees the graduation application and clearance process, and serves as a liaison for the GWSB Undergraduate Advising Center to the Office for Study Abroad and the CARE Network, among other duties.
