Most Online MBA programs simply focus on putting courses online, but the MBA experience is about much more than sitting in classrooms. Important elements of any MBA program are networking and learning opportunities afforded through co-curricular programming and extra-curricular activities.
GWSB places an emphasis on creating communities, building bridges between geographically dispersed faculty, students, staff, alumni, and business and policy partners. Connecting our numerous communities not only strengthens your education, it enhances your experience.
Many online MBA and specialized programs offer few if any career services to their students. In the GWSB: Digital Community we conduct in-depth market research with our incoming student classes to assess their specific career-related needs and develop career-related programming custom-tailored to those needs. Our team in the F. David Fowler Career Center offers GWSB: Digital Community students online career and leadership assessment tools, access to our alumni database, and career-planning services. Coming in Fall 2014, we will offer online career modules that will teach our students resume and cover letter writing, managing their personal brands, networking, interview skills, and much more.
We offer monthly digital networking and online career development sessions to connect with GW alumni and students all around the globe. Current students are also welcome to attend alumni events happening in their area.
