Dolphin Tank - Pitch Practice Sessions

Do you have a cool business idea? You're Invited!

DOLPHIN TANK - Pitch Practice Sessions Scheduled
This isn't about Sharks or Dragons or a competition for who has the best idea of the moment, it's about getting actionable insights from knowledgeable people who just might help you make a change in your message that makes all the difference in what opportunities come your way.

What happens in the Dolphin Tank?

You stand up and give your 2 minute pitch to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs, industry experts and/or investors. (a special 'mad libs' outline is available if you need a cheat sheet) . With participation from the audience, the panel leads a discussion of what worked and what didn't, and gives useful feedback on how to make changes so you can attract investor, partner or customer interest or just get ideas on how to take the next step.

It's a most supportive and eye opening, light bulbs going off, experience. Nothing adversarial about it and no 'Debbie Downers' allowed. We swim alongside you, helping you find a message that is concise and compelling. So come practice your pitch, get friendly feedback you can use right away for your Pitch George debut or to prepare for the GWU Spring Business Plan Competition.

21st Annual Gibbs Oration and 5th Annual Coile Lectureship

We cordially invite you to The George Washington University’s Department of Health Services Management and Leadership Alumni Association’s 21st Annual Gibbs Oration and 5th Annual Coile Lectureship on Friday, November 11, 2011 beginning at 12:30pm. This annual health care conference brings together health care leaders, alumni, students, and faculty, giving the attendees an opportunity for networking and conversation about the future of health care delivery systems.

This year’s conference features two sensational healthcare leaders – one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 most influential people, Mr. Trevor Fetter, and noted healthcare visionary and futurist, Mr. Michael Sachs.

Mr. Fetter has been the President and CEO of Tenet Healthcare Corporate (Tenet) since 2003. Tenet is ranked in the Top 10 largest healthcare systems in the country. Every year since the survey’s inception in 2002, Mr. Fetter is one of only 12 people recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare”. In 2010, he was named one of the 30 Most Powerful People in Healthcare by Becker’s Hospital Review and one of the best CEOs in his industry sector in a 2009 poll published by Institutional Investor.

Mr. Sachs is Founder and Chairman of Sg2 and a noted health care industry strategist and visionary. Sg2 analyzes the impact of changes in the business and technology of health care. Its clients range from national health care systems to leading academic research institutions, from health plans to medical product suppliers.

It will be an afternoon of intelligent conversations as Mr. Fetter talks about how major health care organizations conform to the changes in the industry and as Mr. Sachs projects the future of health care in the United States. This year’s event promises to be valuable to any leader or student, at any point of their career.
