Last year, I began following the Wall Street Journal’s Hire Education Blog to gain insight into the transition seniors from across the country were experiencing. I knew that these were challenges I would soon be confronting. Now, as a current contributor, I am excited to share my story and in turn, hopefully help others in their transition from college to the working world.
The job search is rigorous, stressful and exciting. As undergraduates it is essential to balance our academic, professional, and social lives, and this challenge is only amplified during senior year. While constructing each post takes time, I enjoy describing the ‘ups and downs’ and lessons I have learned throughout the process. Whether I am on the soccer field, in the classroom or at an interview, writing allows me to reflect on my experiences and share my thoughts and feelings. I want to create a dialogue surrounding common questions and concerns we all may have as undergraduates.
For now, my current job search is over, but the transition is only beginning to unfold. Creating ‘the next part of my life' requires many changes and there are still many uncertainties. I am looking forward to continuing to share my journey and provide useful information for others.
