Q: What is the Business Council?
A:  The Business Council was established to serve as a facilitating organization that unites all undergraduate student business organizations on campus. The Council is comprised of student leaders that meet to share information about their organizations and foster relationships between undergraduate business organizations and the GW School of Business.

Q:  What is the mission of the Business Council?
A:  To foster, through collaboration and awareness, an environment that will encourage students of the George Washington University School of Business to experience a closer bond with their School and fellow classmates.

Q: How is the Business Council structured?
A: The Business Council is divided into three subdivisions:

  1. An Executive Board (comprised of three elected positions and seven appointed positions)
  2. Eight member organizations with one representative each
  3. Five committees with fifteen members each

Q: Which undergraduate business organizations are part of the Business Council?
A: Member organizations are: AIESEC, Alpha Kappa Psi, Beta Alpha Psi, Delta Sigma Pi, Finance and Investment Club, GW Women in Business, Minority Business Student Association and the SA Senators.

Q: How can I get involved with the Business Council?
A: An undergraduate School of Business student may become a member of the Business Council in several ways:

  1. Run for a position: President, Executive Vice President, and Secretary
  2. Apply for a position: VP Career Services, VP Community Service, VP Finance, VP Fundraising, VP Public Relations, VP Social Activities, or VP Technology
  3. Sign up to serve on one of five committees: Career Services, Community Service, Fundraising, Public Relations, or Social Activities
  4. Be selected as member organization's representative

Q: How can I sign up for a committee?
A: Visit the Office of Undergraduate Programs (Duques 455) during Business Council office hours and sign up!  Please note, each committee is capped at fifteen members, and preference is given first come first serve.
