Bio and Research:

As a senior labor and human rights specialist, Mike is responsible for sustainability investment decisions within the retail, transportation and manufacturing sectors. He leads Calvert's shareholder engagement regarding corporate management of labor and human rights risks within global supply chains, enhanced sustainability reporting in high impact industries and emerging markets, as well as board oversight of environmental and social issues.

Mike was a primary contributor to Investing the Rights Way: A Guide for Investors on Business and Human Rights and co-authored a guide on supply chain accountability in response to the CA Transparency in Supply Chain Act. He participates in a number of multi-stakeholder initiatives, including several corporate sustainability stakeholder teams and the GRI Supply Chain Disclosure Working Group. Mike is also Co-Chair of the Sustainable Investment Research Analyst Network (SIRAN) Steering Committee and former co-founder and co-chair of the Emerging Markets Disclosure Project - a global investor led initiative to promote sustainability reporting in emerging markets. His professional background includes international development and policy work across multiple international development organizations. Mike holds an MA in International Relations from the Fletcher School and a BA in Psychology from Boston College.
