Mary Sarwary

Bio and Research:

Mary Sarwary is an Associate General Counsel, in the Office of General Counsel, at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc.where she's worked since 2006. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., FINRA is the largest independent regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States. Ms. Sarwary's in-house practice focuses on corporate transactional work and providing legal support to the business operations of FINRA, which includes negotiation of various license and services agreements, counsel and guidance on internal company policies, and management of FINRA's trademark program.

Prior to FINRA, she was in house counsel at Sprint Nextel. Since 2010, she has been a lecturer at the George Washington University, School of Business teaching Business Law and Ethics. Prior to GW, Ms. Sarwary taught Business Associations and Contracts Drafting at American University - Washington College of Law.

Ms. Sarwary graduated with a B.A., in International Studies, from George Mason University and a M.A. in International Business, from George Mason University. She received her J.D. degree from American University-Washington College of Law and an LLM, in Intellectual Property, from the George Washington University Law Center. She is a member of the New York and District of Columbia bar.
