Tuition & Fees
Tuition and fees for the Master of Tourism Administration program in the 2014-2015 academic year are as follows:
- Cost per Credit: $1,545
- Required Program Credits: 36
- Total Program Tuition: $55,620
- Student Association Fees: $1.75 per credit hour, up to a maximum of $26.25 per semester
- Registration Fee: $35 per semester
- Library Fee: $50 (optional)
- Books: $500.00 (estimate / range per academic year)
- Student Health Insurance: $3,017 (full-year estimate; optional)

The School of Business offers two types of scholarships to students in the on campus Master of Tourism Administration Program: the Dean’s Scholarship and the Marriott Foundation Scholarship. All on campus students who express interest in these scholarships are automatically considered. The selection process is highly competitive and awards are primarily made on the basis of merit and availability of funds. Incoming students must file a complete admission application by March 1st in order to be considered for these scholarships for the fall semester.
Fellowships are granted by a foundation, university, or agency to help fund advanced study or research at the Master’s and PhD levels. NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID
Most student loans are based on either financial need or creditworthiness and are available only to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. GW students most frequently utilize loans such as Federal Stafford Loan Program. Other private and federal loans are also available.
All federal loans require the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. For the fall term, GW students must submit this form to the federal processor by May 1. For the spring term, GW students must submit this form to the federal processor by October 1. The maximum loan eligibility is $20,500 per academic year, and the interest rate is fixed at 6.80%.
George Washington University offers a monthly billing plan that allows payments to be spread over up to five months for each semester.
Many larger corporations, as well as the federal government, offer tuition assistance to employees pursuing graduate study. In most cases, your program of study must be related to your career field and approved by a supervisor at your organization.
THIRD PARTY BILLING
A third party sponsor pays all or part of a graduate student’s tuition and fees. Third party sponsors are usually private companies, embassies, or government agencies.
Third-party billing authorization documents must be submitted by the third week of the semester. The University does not accept sponsorship documentation that is contingent upon grades received for course work. Students are responsible for all tuition and fees not covered by a sponsor.
Veterans & Military
Nationally recognized as a top military and veteran-friendly university, GW offers a wealth of services and benefits to students who have served, or are currently serving, in the U.S. Armed Forces. Funding resources for graduate study include:
- GI Bill Base Benefit: $19,198.31 per qualified graduate student per year.
- Yellow Ribbon Program Benefit: Up to $12,000 per qualified graduate student per year.
