Application Requirements

  • Online Application:
Completion of the Online Application for Graduate Study with a $75 non-refundable application fee. The fee will be waived for who already possess an undergraduate or graduate degree from GW, and/or Active Duty Military and Veterans.
  • Academic Records:
Unofficial transcripts for all universities attended should be uploaded to your online application. Should you be offered admission and choose to enroll, official copies of your transcripts will be required prior to enrolling in classes.
  • GMAT or GRE Scores:
Unofficial GMAT or GRE scores should be uploaded to your online application. Should you be offered admission and choose to enroll, an official copy of your standardized test score will be required prior to enrolling in classes. The GMAT report code is QK4-4F-28 and the GRE report code is 5246. You can register year-round to take the GMAT or the GRE, however the test date must be within past five years of the time of application.
  • GMAT or GRE Waiver:
A GMAT/GRE score report is required as part of the application process for the part-time (professional, professional cohort, online and heathcare) MBA program at GW.However, this requirement is waived for applicants with over 5 years of relevant, professional, full-time work experience. Evaluation of relevant experience is at the discretion of the admissions committee.Candidates with between 3 and 5 years of professional full-time work experience may apply for a waiver. Several factors are considered in the review of a waiver request, including the rigor of prior undergraduate and graduate coursework, academic performance, evidence of quantitative and analytical skills, prior work experience, current job responsibilities, and professional certifications.

To request a waiver, please include a brief summary that outlines why you believe you are qualified for the test score waiver along with your resume and unofficial copies of academic transcripts.

Please note that a GMAT/GRE waiver is NOT automatic and an approved waiver request does not guarantee admission to the program.

Not eligible for a test waiver? George Washington applicants can benefit from 10% off any Kaplan GMAT or GRE preparation course. Use discount code GWUSB10.
  • TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Score:
Applicants who have not completed a degree in a country in which English is the principal language must upload one of the following to their online application: an unofficial TOEFL score of at least 100 (internet-based test) or 600 (paper-based test), or an unofficial IELTS score of 7.0 with no individual band score below 6.0, or an unofficial PTE score. The test date must be within the past two years at the time of application. Official score reports will be required prior to your enrolling in classes. Please contact business@gwu.edu if you have any questions regarding this requirement.
