MBA Admissions | Application Checklist
As you work on your application to the George Washington School of Business, you may be unsure of when it’s the right time to hit “submit.” It may be helpful to know that we will only review your application after we have received all application materials. If items are outstanding, our admissions team will work with you to make sure we receive all required materials† before our admission committee reviews your application.
† For this initial review, unofficial documents are sufficient.
Online Application Requirements
To be considered complete, the following must be included in the online application:
- Online Application:
Completed Online Application Form with $75 non-refundable application fee‡.
- Current Resume:
Please list your entire work history including start and stop dates. You can upload the resume in the Employment History section of the online application form.
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation:
Professional letters strongly preferred. Letter writers will be prompted via email to submit on your behalf.
- Two (2) Essays:
You may preview the essay questions prior to starting the application.
- GMAT Score or GRE Score*:
A GMAT/GRE score report is required as part of the application process for the part-time (professional, professional cohort, online and heathcare) MBA program at GW. However, this requirement will be considered for a waiver for applicants with over five years of relevant, professional, full-time work experience. Evaluation of relevant experience is at the discretion of the admissions committee. Candidates with more than three but less than five years of professional full-time work experience may also apply for a waiver.Several factors are considered in the review of a waiver request, including the rigor of prior undergraduate and graduate coursework, academic performance, evidence of quantitative and analytical skills, prior work experience, current job responsibilities, and professional certifications. To request a waiver, please include a brief summary that outlines why you believe you are qualified for the test score waiver along with your resume and unofficial copies of academic transcripts. Please note that a GMAT/GRE waiver is NOT automatic and an approved waiver request does not guarantee admission to the program.
From all colleges/universities attended, whether or not credit was earned, the program was completed, or the credit appears as a transfer credit on another transcript. Please mail official transcripts to the mailing address at the end of this page. Unofficial copies may be uploaded to your online application, however official transcripts are required to complete your application.
‡ The Application fee may be waived. Find a complete list of waived applicants.
* Unofficial scores can be uploaded via the “Other Higher Education” on the education page of your application or by email.
** Unofficial transcripts may be submitted with application for review. Copies of official transcripts will be required if offered admission to a program. Please mail official transcripts to the mailing address at the bottom of this page.
