Admission Standards

Admission to the program is competitive. All applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, representing a four-year course of study in an accredited college or university. Superior academic performance is expected, and a strong background and ability in mathematics are essential for successful completion of the program. The program is expected to be completed in four to five years.

Financial Planning

Funding is available and awarded on a competitive basis. The awards typically cover tuition and fees and provide a monthly stipend. A Ph.D. student funded by the GWSB doctoral program is not allowed to accept paid employment outside the university during the academic year. Any additional paid employment inside the university must be approved by the program director. Fellowships from outside the university may be held concurrently.
