Academic Program

In the Professional MBA program (PMBA), you can design your own course schedule to meet your professional and personal needs. The GW PMBA consists of two levels of courses. The first level includes twenty-one required core courses of 1.5 credit hours each (total 31.5 credit hours) and two mandatory "selectives," one in Information Systems (1.5 credit hours) and one in Business Sustainability/Responsibility (1.5 credit hours), for a total of three credit hours. The second level includes twelve 1.5-credit hour elective courses or any combination of 1.5 and three-credit elective courses (total 18 credit hours). Electives should be taken after the majority of core course requirements have been fulfilled.

Elective Courses

(18 credit hours of coursework)

Choose from any 200-level elective course offered by a School of Business department: Accountancy, Decision Sciences, Finance, Information Systems and Technology Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, Strategic Management and Public Policy, and Tourism and Hospitality Management. You may complete up to six credit hours outside the School of Business.

Program Format
