Mission Statement

The mission of the doctoral program of studies at the George Washington University School of Business is to prepare the future intellectual thought leaders, scholars and educators in the subject fields of business. This requires that the student will pursue a deep understanding of the theories, methodologies and paradigms that constitute the forefront of discourse and research in the business sciences. It requires an active engagement by students in the research initiatives of the school faculty with the mutual purpose of creating new knowledge that is scientifically defensible and publishable in the elite journals of the literature's.

ANNOUNCEMENT

  • The Ph.D. program of the School of Business has been extensively revised to focus on rigorous scholarly research. The departments of Accountancy, Finance, and International Business are currently admitting students for the academic year 2014-15. Other departments will admit in subsequent academic years. If you plan to apply for admission now, please contact the lead professor in the Department about the curriculum and requirements of the program. Contact the Doctoral Office if you need help with application procedures. The last date for application is January 31, 2014.
