MTA Consulting Project Boosts Sustainable Tourism in Mexico

A group of 15 Master of Tourism Administration (MTA) candidates just completed a two-week consulting practicum in Mexico, in support of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí’s goal of having the Huasteca Potosina region designated a UNESCO Global Geopark. As a result of the project, Mexico’s state secretary for tourism and a number of municipal tourism directors signed an agreement to establish stewardship committees tasked with promoting the growth of sustainable tourism in the ecologically and historically significant region.
