
The GW Business Plan Competition and the George Washington Entrepreneurs Roundtable (GWERT) awards ceremony, two previously independent events, have teamed up with departments across the university, including CFEE, to produce a two-day symposium on April 15-16, 2010, designed to foster and highlight the creative, innovative, and pioneering efforts of entrepreneurs in the GW community. As a university sponsor of the event, CFEE re-emphasizes its committment to support activities that make significant contributions to the fields of Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Education and Entrepreneurial Leadership. CFEE Co-Directors Dr. Erik Winslow and Dr. George Solomon participated in the opening ceremony and GWSB CFEE Entrepreneur in Residence Kathy Korman Frey served as moderator for the GWSB Panel on Entrepreneurship. Panelists for the event included Matt Jacobson, Partner, LaunchBox Digital; Edward Barrientos, GWSB MBA '90, CEO, Brazen Careerist; Peter Corbett, CEO, iStrategyLabs; Renee Lewis, SEAS MS '90, founder, the Pensare Group; and Terry Collins, SEAS DSc '76, chairman and CEO, Argon ST. Founder and CEO of Rand Construction Company Linda Rabbitt, GSEHD MA '72 was awarded the Distinguished Entrepreneurial Achievement Award by University President Steven Knapp.
