Springboard Enterprises

Venture-catalyst Springboard Enterprises (www.springboardenterprises.org) is the premier platform where influencers, investors and innovators meet to help women build ‘big businesses starting small’. Springboard sources, coaches, showcases and supports women-led growth companies seeking equity capital for product development and expansion.

Over 500 women-led companies have gone through Springboard's accelerator programs; they have raised more than $5.6 billion in financing, have created tens of thousands of new jobs, and generate billions of dollars in annual revenues. More than 80% of Springboard companies are still in business, including 10 IPOs and many that are now the technology engines of publicly traded companies.

Springboard is located on GWU's Mount Vernon campus and was founded by Amy Millman, who holds a Masters' degree from GWU as is a frequent CFEE guest lecturer.

Springboard Dolphin Tank Program

The Springboard Enterprises Dolphin Tank program is an interactive fast-pitch session for entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch their business oppostunities and receive feedback. Unlike ABC's Shark Tank of the British Dragon's Den, at the Dolphin Tank you share your ideas without fear that the audience will tear you to shreds.

This pitch-practice event allows students and entrepreneurs to deliver a two-minutes elevator pitch about their idea, product, challenge, or business. An interactive expert panel than provides constructive and encouraging input. This isn't a competition for the best idea of the moment; it is about actionable insights from knowledgeable people. With participation from the audience, the experts lead a discussion of what worked and what didn't, and give tangible, actionable feedback on how to improve the pitch in order to attract the right invesetor, partner, colleague, or customer interest.

Springboard Enterprises Dolphin Tank program is held at GWU multiiple times each semester in partnership with CFEE and the GWU Office of Entrepreneurship.
