Greetings from Dean Linda A. Livingstone
I am honored to join GWSB and value the trust you have placed in me to lead the school. As we begin a new academic year and a new chapter in the school’s history, I am eager to build upon the strong foundation you have laid. It is my aim to enhance the quality and reputation of the school, by working with you, our dedicated alumni in addition to our faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders, who are passionate about our students, about excellence in scholarship and teaching, about working together to advance the mission of the school, and about being citizen leaders.
This mission can only be realized with the ongoing engagement of our alumni. As Alumni, you have a life-long relationship with each other and with GW. With more than 53,000 graduates, the GW School of Business alumni network is an extensive, global community that contributes greatly to the overall success of GWSB. Alumni help GWSB evolve, expand and progress by keeping informed about the news of the School, attending events, volunteering through a variety of programs and investing financial contributions. If you are not yet engaged with us, I encourage you to find the opportunity that is right for you by visiting business.gwu.edu/alumni.
Over the course of this year, I look forward to meeting with many of you across the country and around the world to hear your personal journey from student at GWSB to business leader. Hundreds of GWSB alumni will gather during the GWSB Alumni pre-concert “Tailgate” on campus September 19th during the 2014 GW Alumni Weekend where we will start these conversations. I invite you to join me for this event.
Whether you graduated decades ago or just this past year, you can make an impact here. Our alumni contribute their work, wealth and wisdom creating a powerful network that can benefit students and alumni alike. The credo of George Washington was “Deeds not Words,” which is a phrase that embodies the actions you all take as GWSB citizen leaders. I am privileged to join you on this journey to MAKE HISTORY.
