Admission

Each year we admit highly qualified students into the MSPM program. Our program is geared towards professionals looking to advance their careers. We also welcome students who are interested in entering the field of project management. In Fall 2009, our students averaged 15 years of work experience, representing a span of 2 to 26 years of full-time work experience. 30% of admitted students hold PMP certification with the Project Management Institute and 30% hold advanced degrees.

Requirements for Admission
  • A bachelor’s degree and strong academic performance from a regionally accredited college
  • At least two years of professional, full-time work experience
  • The GMAT exam is required for applicants with less than seven years of relevant work experience. Scores must be from within the past five years. (GMAT Institution Code: QK4-4F-62)
  • A demonstrated professional interest in project management

  • A current resume
  • Three letters of recommendation from professional and/or academic references
  • Official GMAT scores, if applicable
  • Official transcript from every college and/or university attended, even if it did not lead to a degree or if the credits appear on other transcripts. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated (see International Applicant section).
  • A non-refundable application fee

International Applications

Application Process

Qualified applicants should submit the following items:

  • GW Graduate Admissions online application form
  • Statement of Career Objectives: In no more than 500 words, describe how the MSPM program fits into your professional life and your career objectives.
  • A current resume.
  • Three professional or academic letters of recommendation.
  • Official GMAT scores, if applicable
  • Official transcript from every college and/or university attended, even if it did not lead to a degree or if the credits appear on other transcripts.If your transcripts are from a university outside of the US, you are required to submit formally evaluated transcripts. Certified evaluation companies students have used in the past include World Education Services, Joseph Silny & Associates, and AACRAO. These companies and others like them can evaluate and translate your foreign transcripts. Students will need to send transcripts directly to the evaluation company, where they will undergo translation and an evaluation assessment before being sent to the program. Applicants will need to request a course by course and degree evaluation.
  • Official TOEFL scores are required unless applicants have completed a degree in which English was the medium of instruction. (TOEFL Institution Code: 5246) Score minimums are as follows:

    Paper: 600
    IELTS
    7.0 Overall (no less than 6.0 in each category)
  • A non-refundable application fee.
