Executive Master of Information Systems (EMIS)
Admission for the EMIS program is highly competitive and limited to
21 participants per cohort. Applications are considered only for the
Fall semester. Applicants must present a bachelor's degree from a regionally
accredited college or university and meet the minimum entrance requirements
of the School of Business. The application process includes the following
components:
- Pre-Application. The on-line pre-application provides
prospective candidates with a quick and easy tool to determine the
likelihood of their admission. Candidates are encouraged to complete
the on-line pre-application and submit it along with a copy of their
resume as early as possible. Any applicant with coursework outside
of the US, Canada, UK, and a few select countries must also submit
a TOEFL and an Education Evaluation report along with their pre-application.
We will review your pre-application and advise you as to whether you
are competitive for admission and qualify for the next step of the
admissions process.
- Personal Interview. The interview is your opportunity
to expand upon your professional and academic experiences and to discuss
your goals with a faculty member. This is also an excellent opportunity
to ask questions about the program and to ensure that the program
is well suited to your needs.
- GW Graduate Admission Application. The application
form must be completed on-line and include official transcripts of
all prior undergraduate and graduate coursework, a formal statement
of purpose, three letters of recommendation and an application fee.
International students are required to submit an official education
evaluation and TOEFL scores. Candidates are notified of the admissions
decision and have two weeks to submit a non-refundable deposit of
$500 to reserve their position in the cohort.
The EMIS Preliminary Application (Pre-App) will provide early feedback
from our admissions committee. We will examine your credentials and
evaluate your eligibility to enter GW's Executive Master of Science
in Information Systems (EMIS) program before you approach your organization
for sponsorship or commit to completing the full application. The information
you provide is held in strict confidence. Your employer will not be
notified of your possible interest.
You are encouraged to fill out this Pre-App online or fax it to us
at 703-726-8311 along with a copy of your resume. A PDF
version is also available.
We will review your Pre-App and advise you as to whether you will be
competitive for admission. It is strongly suggested that you submit
the Pre-App as early as possible, preferably no later than July
1.
