Competition Format

  • All teams will participate in two preliminary rounds, one on Friday evening and one on Saturday morning. 
  • Each preliminary round will be scored out of 100 points by a 3-judge panel according to a standarized scoring sheet. The top three teams with the highest scores will compete against each other in the final round on Saturday afternoon.  Scoring for the final round will not be cumulative.
  • Each round consists of a 30-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute question and answer session.
  • Participating teams will be assigned a number (1-18)   This number will determine when each team will present in each preliminary round.

The following schedule is tentative and is based on the number of teams participating. Participating teams will receive a finalized schedule.

  • While at the case competition, teams must only refer to themselves using their number, not their university name.  PowerPoint presentations must not have any reference to a team's university name.
  • PC laptops loaded with Microsoft Office XP and connected to an LCD projector will be available to each school during their presentations.
  • All four team members must present and participate in each round.
  • The team that wins the final round will receive a cash prize of $3000. Second place will win $2000 and third place will win $1000. All award payments will be made by check after the competition. Winners who are not United States citizens will be subject to tax withholdings on the prize money. All participants will receive a certificate.
