Chen’s research examines the impact of foreign direct investment on corporate performance with a particular focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions by firms in emerging markets. In 2006 she worked in the Trade Division at the International Monetary Fund’s Research Department. She is a member of the American Economic Association and the Academy of International Business.
