Bio: For the past 17+ years, Michael Altman has developed a reputation for building outstanding marketing-driven organizations that contribute to positive economic development, community growth and social change. Now a tourism, hospitality and leisure consultant with a focus on place branding, Michael works for a broad range of public and private sector clients including: Yonkers, NY Industrial Development Agency; Waterfront Toronto; Bluefield Bay, Jamaica; Region of Niagara, Canada; Washington DC Convention and Tourism Corporation; and may others. He spent five years as the Chief Marketing Officer at the Smithsonian Enterprises, the revenue generating division of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.
Michael is a certified focus group moderator/facilitator. He has been a board member of the Washington DC Convention and Tourism Corporation and is a member of CEO for Cities, a national network of urban leaders working to create next generation cities that excel in the areas of talent, connections, innovation and distinctiveness.
