Messersmith’s research and teaching interests lie in the strategic management of human resources and the managerial policies and practices that build successful entrepreneurial companies. He was recognized as a Kauffman Dissertation Fellow for his research on new ventures. His work has been published in Human Resource Management and the “Best Paper Proceedings” of the Academy of Management. Prior to returning to complete his doctorate, Messersmith served as a consultant for Accenture.
