Areas of Expertise: Corporate finance: capital structure, cost of capital and credit risk, real options, agency costs. Numerical methods for finance: multidimensional lattices, Monte Carlo simulation, structural estimation of real option models, Markov Decision Processes.

Andrea Gamba is an Associate Professor of Mathematical Finance at the University of Verona (Italy). Before then, he has been Assistant Professor at University Ca’ Foscari

in Venice, Italy. He has taught undergraduate course on mathematical finance and graduate courses on advanced corporate finance. Before visiting George Washington University, he has had visiting and research appointments at NYU, Purdue University, Calgary University, and the University of Maryland.

He has presented his research at many conferences, including American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association, Financial Management Association, Northern Finance Association, SITE conference at Stanford University, International Conference on Real Options. He has authored articles in many peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Finance, Financial Management, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Multinational Finance Journal, Applied Mathematical Finance.

Gamba served as a consultant on real options valuation for SwissCom (Switzerland) and Cable & Wireless (U.K.), and on derivative pricing for banks and insurance companies in Italy.
