About the Conference

The George Washington University School of Business is pleased to host the 5th Annual Cherry Blossom Conference on Friday, April 7th & Saturday, April 8th, 2017. The conference aims to bring together scholars in accounting research, broadly defined.

Past topics include:

  • Peer Benchmarking
  • Performance Measurement
  • Earnings Conference Calls
  • Executive Compensation

  • Credit Analysts’ Ratings
  • Information Asymmetry
  • And much more!

The 2017 program will begin with lunch on Friday, followed by seven research presentations (delivered over two days), a Friday night dinner at the historic Old Ebbitt Grill (a favorite of many past U.S. Presidents), and finally conclude with lunch on Saturday.

Our conference is held during the annual blooming of cherry blossoms, a nationally-renowned spectacle of natural beauty in the heart of Washington, DC.

Getting Here

The nearest airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), followed by Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore International Airport (BWI).

Depending on traffic, a Lyft/Uber/taxi ride to GWU will be 15 minutes from DCA, 40 minutes from IAD, and 55 minutes from BWI.

The University Parking Garage is located on H Street between 21st and 22nd Streets.

The conference is held in Duquès Hall in the School of Business.
